A US visa is a temporary work permit issued by the US government.
You must be a US citizen or a permanent resident to apply for a US tourist visa.
It is usually issued by your employer and is valid for 6 months, but you can extend your stay by up to 90 days.
The visa can only be used for work or study and you cannot work as a foreign national on a short-term basis.
You can apply online, but a visa application fee is usually $1000 (€7000) for a single visit and $3000 (€6000) for multiple visits.
You must show you are qualified for the job or study, and provide proof of your skills.
If you are travelling with your partner or children, you must have your spouse or partner’s name on your visa application.
You can apply to extend your visa up to 3 years by visiting your nearest US consulate, or by visiting a US embassy or consulate in the country you are visiting.
You will need to apply online for your visa online at the US consulate.

If your application is approved, you will be issued a US travel document with your name and address on it.
This document will allow you to enter the US without a visa.
If you are issued a visa you will need a visa to enter your home country for up to 120 days.
There are three types of US visa: a work visa, a visitor visa, and a tourist visa, each of which can be extended by up the 3-year time limit.
You’ll need to complete a visa form that shows your knowledge, experience and work history, as well as your personal details.
The form must be completed and signed by the applicant.
The form must contain:Your name and the person who will sign itThe date you will apply for your US visaThe name of your employerYou must provide proof you are employed as a US employee or permanent residentYou must also provide the following details:Your salary (in US dollars)A detailed list of all your work and study responsibilitiesA copy of your passportThe passport number and date of birth (if available)Your current addressThe visa office (US embassy or consulates) will be able to assist you in applying for your passport.
You are also required to provide your passport, travel documents and a copy of a US immigration form.
If all this is not possible, you may be able the use of a work permit, which is usually required to apply to enter or remain in the US.
If an application for a work or tourism visa is denied, you can appeal the decision by writing to the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
This can take up to 180 days.
You may need to return to the DHS for further processing.

You may need a copy from the embassy of your visa form or the information it contains, such as a copy or transcript of the visa application form.
