BAHAMA, June 29 (Reuters) – A Saudi Arabia-based health worker has applied for a visa to travel to Italy after she was refused entry in the kingdom.

The health visa application has been approved, the ministry of immigration and border affairs said in a statement on Sunday.

The Saudi Arabian ambassador to Italy, Mohammad Al-Qahtani, was quoted by Reuters news agency as saying that the ministry was satisfied with the application.

The Ministry of Interior had earlier said it had received the Saudi Arabian visa application.

“The ministry has confirmed that the visa is in the hands of the ministry and is awaiting the outcome of the visa application,” it said in an earlier statement.

The ministry’s spokesman, Mohamed Ali, added that the approval process is under way and would not comment further until the visa issue is resolved.
